Summer-proof your hair with Fragrance.com!

Summer is a lot of fun, but can be evil on your hair, especially if you process it or use heat styling. Bleaching and blow-drying? I remember when all the fall beauty magazines used to feature all the latest chops . . . because you had to! These days, so many people in the public spotlight throw on yards of extensions and they all look like the Addams family’s Cousin It. So, how and with what can you save your own locks? With Fragrance.com, of course! I was happy to be hosted to experience it.

The best salons for the most famous stars pounced on Olaplex as a miracle potion to repair dried and fried tresses and with good reason. Now, you’ll see some influencers looking around, but that’s because they won’t just say, “one and done!” This is a high-protein line — with some moisturizers — for repair of the cotton candy on your head. You want to alternate protein bonders with moisturizers, because protein can dehydrate your hair, even though it’s getting stronger. ha

There are two Olaplex products meant to be used in tandem for building those bonds. So, you will need to set aside some time before your shampoo to use them, a total of at least 20 minutes.

I usually have to have some sort of Nobel peace prize negotiation with my hairdresser — who has known me for several decades — as to how much to chop off to get rid of the cotton candy on my ends. Using Olaplex No.s 0 Intensive Bond Building Hair Treatment and 3 Hair Perfector before (and then 7 afterwards) recently netted me an inch less chop on my recent visit! O is a spray that you leave on for 10 minutes, while 3 is a rich cream that you apply on the wet spray and leave on 10 minutes — or more. It’s easy, it’s not drippy. No. 7 Bonding Oil is an oil that you use a teeny bit of as a final touch after styling, for flyaways, etc.

Bed Head After Party Super Smoothing Cream is a dual-use cream that pumps out. It gives you silky, healthy-looking hair without that dead 90s heavy weight. First, they instruct that you use 2-3 pumps on damp hair before styling. If you have short hair, I’d say 1 pump is fine. After styling, they suggest using a small amount on your ends, flyaways. You will still have the liveliness and volume of your natural hair.

Blonde Sexy Hair Shining Star shine enhancing and color preserving spray has a cute imprint of Marilyn Monroe on the can. So, this is not a spray to keep your style in place. It is lightweight shine that doesn’t look greasy or like you took a blob of silicone to your hair. Nor does it have any gummy, junior prom type glitter, either. So, you can feel confident and appropriate using it day or night!
