I’ve traveled in every kind of conveyance (except for a motorcycle): car, Greyhound bus, Bolt Bus, Mega Bus, cruise ship, economy airline, first class airline, helicopter. No matter how you get around, it’s hard to get comfy!
Travelrest is a company that’s trying to change all of that. I was very glad to have been hosted to try one of their products, the travel pillow.
Their pillow is not the traditional horseshoe-shaped pillow; rather, it’s got a sling-like shape. You inflate it by blowing it up and there’s a little button that you quickly press to adjust the firmness. It’s got a suede-like texture and comes in several colors.
It took a little bit of time for me to figure out how I wanted to use it, but then the perfect opportunity presented itself: the seat next to me was empty on a flight to Helsinki, Finland. I was able to use the travel pillow as an extended seat arm, effectively turning my economy seat into a Barcalounger-type chair! It occurred to me that it would be a great device to have for people with a broken arm and who must elevate it for comfort.
The pillow rolls up and snaps onto luggage and bags . . . just don’t forget it on the plane!
