Fun fine dining at Michelin starred Helsinki’s Olo [classic article]

People have been asking me, “What does Finnish food taste like?” I certainly can report that the cuisine has some of its finest moments at Helsinki’s Olo. Located right on Helsinki’s main harbor, it has a laid-back atmosphere for a restaurant holding a Michelin star. I was very glad to be hosted to be able to experience it!

Unlike many other modern style restaurants, the food is prettily arranged, yet not overly manhandled. They pride themselves that flavors are “recognizable,” opposed to some improbable combinations I’ve encountered lately.

Besides the terrific flavors, the restaurant is able to keep a more business-casual ambiance — not too precious — though diners are certainly extremely well cared for by their observant and attentive staff.
