A brew just for you: Steeped Coffee

After nearly slicing off my finger with an electric knife when I was 4, then subsequently becoming a professional violinist, I was kept far away from kitchen gadgets growing up. In my early 20’s, I’m sure I frustrated people when I didn’t know how to make coffee — and I was too embarrassed to admit it.

There are some people with cubby hole kitchens who don’t even want a bunch of gadgets.

Maybe you spend days at an office, where the break room coffee sucks or runs out or both. Or, you could be traveling on a plane or train, unwilling to deal with whatever comes out of their pot.

Now there is a breakthrough product that changes everything: Steeped Coffee. I was happy to be hosted to experience it!

This is a coffee in a bag that you steep like tea. There’s a little bit of an art to it; you have to dunk the bag up and down for deeper flavor and let it steep for a bit.

They offer a full range of coffees, from decaf to the darkest French roast, as well as single origin blends. The Lineup is a bundle package that features the 4 most popular flavors, which happens to go the full spectrum.

Latin American blend Breakwater is a French roast. I noticed a pleasant bitterness/dark cocoa notes, without acidity. They describe it as having “Smoky/ Caramel/Citrus” notes.

Odyssey blend is a dark roast. It has that classic coffee flavor, nutty and rich. They describe it as “Savory/Roasty/Earthy”.

California blend is a medium roast. I noticed it was very bright, berry-like. They describe it as “Nutty/Chocolate/Roasty”.

Sunrise blend is a light blend. I experienced bright, sweet citrus with milk chocolate notes. They describe it as “Lemon-Lime/Cocoa Nib/Toffee”.
