Crunchy, munchy, sweet ‘n savory: Cosmos Creations [classic article]

It’s not that I don’t like snacks . . . I do. But some of ’em are so full of God-knows-what, I stayed away. Many “healthy” snacks taste like pencil shavings and packing peanuts. But they’re not the be-all and end-all! Cosmos Creations has a a premium line of snacks that are delicious but don’t have bad ingredients. I was happy to be hosted to experience it!

These are puffed corn snacks made into different artisan flavors without gluten, trans-fats, hulls, kernels, preservatives and additives. Whether you’re hankering for something sweet or savory, Cosmos Creations has it covered.

Coconut Crunch: This is a great substitute for candy bars. It’s easy to deal with the puffed texture, without all the dental hassles of popcorn. In fact, I tried these during the infamous time period when I had my broken front tooth without any problems. They’re not too sweet and have a good toasted coconut flavor. I noticed on the bag that they even have Vitamin A and iron! But, the small bag is listed as being two servings and well, who stops at just half a bag?

Sriracha: It’s spicy! It tastes just like Sriracha, not just a salty snack. I also get the garlic of the sauce. This would be great at bars and restaurants.

Cheddar Black Pepper: They do taste like quality aged Cheddar topped with freshly cracked black pepper . . . not merely salt flavors, which that highly publicized national brand with the kooky contests has. These are naturally colored.

Sea Salt & Butter: These taste more corny than popcorn. The true butter flavor comes out, not fake tasting. It’s not too salty.

Sea Salt & Vinegar with Pepper: These have a pronounced tang with the counterpoint of fresh black pepper. The corn add a distinct sweetness of its own.

Salted Caramel: These are sweet, buttery, a hit of salt . . . not the corn syrup flavor you might be used to in ballpark snacks.
