I do a lot of traveling. In the past year, I’ve been to Taiwan, Italy, Austria, Sweden, Belgium, The Netherlands, Canada, Germany, the Faroe Islands, Iceland . . . and all over the USA. I have also done more than my fair share of experimenting with my “day bag” — what I use when leaving the hotel room in the morning and going on tour for the day.
I have a large collection of purses and “day bags” in my closet, some of them luxe designer. Up until now, they were all problematic when going around all day with them. I’ve begged my husband to carry around a loaded down “doctor’s bag”. A bag that had a military surplus look became so heavy and unbalanced on my shoulder, I’d get the worst backaches. Backpacks are frowned upon in museums and don’t work for nice restaurants. What to do? What to carry?
eBags Piazza Day Bag to the rescue! The folks at eBags have outdone themselves again. I was very glad to be hosted to experience it. It’s lightweight and comes in both bright and neutral colors. It has all kinds of pocket compartments, including two side pockets for sunglasses. There are also “hidden pockets”! That really adds to your security when traveling abroad. A whole flap snaps magnetically, which is perfect for quickly accessing things like an airplane boarding pass and passport when going through multiple passport control stations at the airport.
The balance of the bag — even when loaded down with cameras, wallet, souvenirs, etc. — is phenomenal. Though it doesn’t have a huge table footprint, it still holds a hell of a lot, comfortably!
I really appreciated the versatility of this bag on my recent travels to Iceland, the Faroe Islands and Sweden. It worked for strenuous hikes as well as city bistros.
