Easy, inexpensive way to improve travel comfort: Burt’s Bees Beeswax lip balm [classic article]

Travelers, can you believe that something so small and under $4 can be so helpful? Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm is kind of Swiss Army knife of cosmetics: I was glad to be hosted to experience it!

Because this beeswax based balm is 100% natural, you can feel confident for many different uses. The research varies, but it is said that women ingest several pounds of lipstick in their lifetime! All those chemicals! With natural ingredients, you can rest a little easier.

I grew up in Chicago, where the winters were especially harsh. As I was often waiting outside for public transportation, I always kept a tube of balm in my coat pocket . . . still do. You can use it on cuticles, wax up a thread you are threading through a needle, hold together a fraying shoelace enough to get it through the eyelets, tame fly away hairs on the, well, fly.

The natural peppermint in the balm probably helps disguise less than fresh breath! It’s waxy, but not hard, leaving good protection on your lips. Use it to moisturize lips before applying lip color, or mix with too-dry lipsticks to revive them.

Olympic medalist and celebrity Johnny Weir swears by it! He keeps it in his bag at all times.
