When I travel, I love to see good places to eat where I can bring my dog. Knoxville, Tennessee’s The French Market is open every day, with good shaded space to eat along with your pup. Knoxville is known as the most dog-friendly city in the US, but there aren’t as many breakfast places open for dogs as other places. You’ll see bars, etc., who love the idea of a dog on their patio, but for the first meal of the day, not so much.
My dog — Mr. Jefferson — and I had started the day out somewhere else, but the menu wasn’t really breakfast-y and we were in full sun. Jeffy is up there in years, at least 13+ years old, so he needs his shade. The French Market filled the bill.
Here’s a place to get all kinds of coffee drinks, European beers, ciders. Food-wise, they have light sandwiches and crepes. I’d stick with the crepes, as I found the sandwiches to be a little lettuce-heavy, while the crepes were terrific! I ordered Crêpes Suzette ($8.95): The classic French crêpes. 1 oz. Grand Marnier® Cognac with butter, sugar, caramel & whipped cream. For $2 extra, I had them add fresh strawberries, which was even more delightful.
