After being cooped up, snow-bound, worn out and wind blown, you’re probably starting to look it! Add to that eating lots of cupboard staples full of salt and preservatives, a lack of fresh fruits and veggies, as well as possibly a few too many hot toddies by the fire. If you’re not convinced your eyes are showing the abuse you’ve been ladling out, take a look at the political candidates on television. Most of them — with little sleep but lots of road food — are starting to resemble the cartoon character, Droopy. Who wants to look like that?! Fortunately, there’s bliss triple oxygen instant energizing eye mask to the rescue! I was happy to be hosted to experience it.
Bliss — spelled in lowercase letters, like e. e. cummings did with lettering — started out as Manhattan’s high society day facial salon. It grew and became an international powerhouse, with spas across the globe and an extensive, coveted skincare line. The products help you to create a spa of your own at home! Now, you don’t even have to leave your home to get the goodies: you can call QVC, order on your computer or even through their free phone app.
This eye mask is on trend in that it’s not a cream that you lather on, but rather, a cutout that you place under your eyes and above your cheekbones. The innovation with this product is that the mask cutout and active ingredients are packaged separately within the same packet. One squeezes the liquid end until the cutout is saturated. It’s a very clean process! You could easily travel with this product, though — due to the fluid part — it would have to be packed in your 3-1-1 carry-on travel bag. Some airports around the world are being more stringent about this than others.
The saturated mask is a thick cotton batting sort of material. When you peel the foil and apply it to under your eyes, be delicate! The moist material can easily tear, so you don’t want just one eye to be treated. Then, you’d look like the “before” and “after” in a fashion makeover.
The mask is cool and soothing. They suggest for users to stash the masks in the fridge for extra refreshment. Each is about the size of a playing card. Once applied, you can go about doing whatever you were doing (provided you have privacy), even if you wear eyeglasses: they don’t tend to slip. Sure, it’s great if you can lie down and elevate your feet for extra relaxation, but hey . . . we’re talking real life here! You leave on the mask for about 15-20 minutes and peel off. You don’t have to rinse your face, rub anything in or do anything further.
This mask is quite effective for those days when you’re eyes are puffy. It gets rid of that sleepless, non-pampered, put through the ringer, maybe you’ve been crying look.
