Feelin’ good & smelling sweet: Mom on Mother’s Day with Fragrance.com

Scent and touch are our most primitive of senses. So, it just makes sense that Mom will want to treated to the best this Mother’s Day! Here are some exciting, glam and affordable options thanks to Fragrance.com. I was happy to be hosted to experience it!

Armaf is rather new in the fragrance market, but it’s making a big, exciting splash for both men and women. They have locations in London, Milan, Dubai, NYC and Paris. Additionally, their packaging is unique and exciting. They look and smell glam without the glam price tag. Armaf Delights Island Breeze — packaged in a red velvet coffret in a salmon box — has a tropical sunset scene. Inside is a heavy, bejeweled strawberry soda bottle! So unforgettable!

I experienced fresh, juicy tropical fruits, not candy or cloying. I noticed peach, pineapple, mango, lychee and a touch of white musk/skin accord. They describe it nearly identically: “a fruity floral perfume with juicy peach, wild berries, rose, and white musk.”

Jean Nate’ – did you just smile at the memories? — is said to be the first splash. It was formulated in a way to be able to luxuriate and splash it on, not be too precious about it. You mom probably misses that fresh scent and feeling. I keep it in the fridge and you should, too! It’s going to be a hot summer. It comes in a great, big bottle, so you can be generous with yourself.

I experienced notes of lemon, rosemary and full blown florals. To keep up with the times, it now has moisture replenishing complex! The iconic mid-century design bottle will give mom that fresh girl on the go feeling. They describe it like this: “This sophisticated fragrance is a rich combination of spices and floral notes that combine to make a unique evening perfume.”

Quick: what’s the dessert everyone has been talking about for months? Dubai Chocolate, of course! It also has pistachios and crispy, flaky crunch like baklava or frosted shredded wheat. Jean Rich Dubai Chocolate is a gourmand fragrance that comes in a whimsical bottle. This is how they describe it: “Rich pistachio creme and roasted hazelnut melt into dark chocolate ganache. This opulent gourmand creation by Jean Rish finishes with smoked tonka and creamy vanilla for an irresistibly addictive fragrance experience,”.

It’s in velvety paper box, squared with a heavy glass bottom. There’s a wooden cacao nut like stopper. Exotic as this sounds, it’s made in the USA. The bottle has pictures of chocolate candies. I not only experienced the chocolate candy aspect, but also herbal notes and cacao husk to add sophistication to the fragrance.

I’ve been to duty-free shops in airports all over the world. Consistently, there’s a brand that I see the Jet Set flocking to: Nuxe. The line centers around a mix of natural oils in several fragrances and formulations that are multi-use. Thus, it’s perfect for airline travel and light travel. You can use the products on body, face and hair.

The oils are sprayed out in a very fine stream, with an actual dry touch. It’s not sticky or goopy at all.

I recently had two things going at once: a healing sprained foot and many hours of airline travel. The shifting swelling of the foot was extremely itchy and travel is dehydrating. The “Riche” formulation goes on thinly and works quite effectively. I sprayed my itchy legs, on my hands and added some to my hair. The next day, I wasn’t attacking my shins with my nails. I had forgotten I had applied it and wondered in the mirror, “What did I use on my hair yesterday? It looks thicker and shiny.” Really! It wasn’t lanky, either.

Nuxe carries several gift sets, which make a great bow-and-go gift for Mom. One is a Floral collection. The oil has spicy flowers that I experienced as carnation with some fennel-like herbs for balance. It’s tinted pink.

There’s also a Micellar water for face cleansing. Now, you know that no matter what, you have to wash your face every night, right? Doesn’t matter how tired you are or sick or feeling loopy. You don’t want to set yourself up for a week of breakouts. Micellar water is designed to take off makeup and grime without water. So, if you can’t handle cleansing, you can still handle this. But on a day to day basis, you need a regular cleanser.

The Nuxe Very Rose lip balm smells like salt water taffy and applies from a pot of very soft balm. It’s definitely got a lot of slip, so it would make the perfect nighttime lip mask.
