Philip B. has some coveted new products for the holidays and I was happy to be hosted to experience them! This is the line for the super-fabulous royalty around the world and the Beautiful People in general.
Two different luxe products are the Chai Latte Body Wash and Chocolate Milk Bubble Bath. Aromatherapy for the soul, great for shaving. But here is a true story of just how gentle they are. Last week, I had a fancy event to attend in D.C., leaving from Baltimore. I usually cut these things pretty close, getting ready-wise. Plus, I always underestimate what kind of time extras will take: last minute fancy coffee, walking my mixed dachshund.
So, we’ll just say that I had a “bad encounter” with someone outside and just after, I fell hard off a curb onto my knee and hand. I pretty much tore my knee almost to the bone and my hand was sliced. I cried on the grass for awhile, i couldn’t push myself up. I finally rolled up onto my recessive side, blood going all over the place. And then, I remembered: I still had to get ready!
My friend thought I should go to the ER, but I don’t get a ton of invites to exquisite events, so I wouldn’t miss it for the world. I quickly ordered some monster-sized waterproof bandages and tapes through Instacart and struggled to the shower. I was going to wear some loosely knit lace tights, so I had to do a good shave. On went a thick, rich, creamy handful of the Chai Latte Body wash, cleaning out the wound and shaving around. There was no “owwwww!” None.
This is what they say about it: “A warming blend of White Tea Leaf, Hydrolyzed Soymilk and Honey with Apple Extract and Shea Butter pampers skin with moisturizing botanicals, leaving you with the look of smoother, tighter, glowing skin with a velvety feel. The rich and gentle lather, with notes of Cardamom, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Ginger, and Black Pepper, inspire a deliciously spicy and energized feeling while invigorating the senses.”
The scent went very well with my favorite By Killian perfume.
The Chocolate Milk Bubble Bath smells like an expensive Valentine’s Day box and has wheat amino acids, keratin and oat extracts. An indulgent bubble bath always makes me feel like it’s Friday night.
Philip B. has two general lines: the white and black labels. The white is the original formulation and the black has more actives, more treatment oriented. Since I was now running uncomfortably late, I didn’t have time for any pre-treatments, relaxing massagies, none of that. I needed something simple and quick to use. “Everyday” in the sense of high expectations on the daily.
The Color Care Duo is a bundle of the Everyday Beautiful Shampoo and Conditioner. They have a woodsy citrus scent with Neroli, Tangerine, Citrus, Bergamot and Vanilla with clarifying and volumizing properties. I was glad to have an easy-to-use set that did the prep work for me. I mean, I only had a few minutes to dry my hair into some sort of style and there was volume, lightness and shine.
So, for fancy-fancy times when you have at least a little extra time for yourself, here’s a way to try or give the very best of the best. The Russian Amber Imperial Collection is Philip B.’s finest. Finest comes with a price tag. But there’s a discovery kit where you can experience the most special shampoo experience at a doable price! Great for traveling, too. We learned a while back that you should be thinking about a pre-cleanse shampoo and the famous Peppermint Avocado is the freshest but most nourishing one you can do.
Next comes the Russian Amber Imperial Shampoo, with its raw honey texture. You pinch off a bit, emulsify it in your hand and massage it in, leaving for 1-3 minutes. Next comes Russian Amber Imperial Conditioner, with a more lotion consistency. Leave that also 1-3 minutes. Your hair will be so pampered and the aromatherapy is tops:
Fruity Apricot
Violet, Lily of the Valley, Orchid
Amber, Vanilla, Sandalwood
