In a recent article in The Economist, reporting on a scientific convention in Chicago, they noted that humans have evolved to prefer cooked and maybe now, processed food. Many more calories are expended to digest raw food, including raw vegetables. Our brains have grown and our abdomens have shrunk — yes, really! — because cooked meats have more calories. Our body requirements are fewer to digest cooked and processed food.
And now, it’s hypothesized that our brains now prefer cooked and may even prefer processed food. Well, I may crave a bag of crunchy style Cheetos, but I feel awful if I indulge. Will we evolve to be healhier and stronger one day, living on solely processed food?
