Tequila on the 4th of July? Yes, it’s actually perfect! When you’re crafting cocktails to go with the picnic foods like deviled eggs, barbeques, steamed crabs, grilled meats, 7 layer bean dips, chili, etc., you need a drink that stands up to the powerful flavors . . . but is tasty on its own. Hornitos to the rescue! I was happy to be hosted to experience it.
Definitely consider bringing a bottle to that gathering you have been invited to this weekend. It’s sure to be appreciated and you’ll just add to the fun that’s taking place. Think about it: just standing there as the one with the bottle everybody wants is a crazy-good way to meet new people!
This is what they say about it:
I experienced it as very, very smooth, with light, bright notes and a hint of almond. It has no harshness and is slightly warming upon swallowing.
Here’s a recipe celebrating the 4th of July:
Strawberry Fireworks
- 3 parts Hornitos® Plata Tequila
- Handful of fresh strawberries
- Juice from 1 lime
- 2 teaspoons superfine sugar
- Fresh pepper
- 1 cup club soda
Preparation: Put strawberries in a small pitcher and mash to your desired consistency. Add juice, club soda, Hornitos® Plata and combine along with 4 good grinds from the pepper mill. Fill 2 glasses halfway with ice and divide drink among glasses.
