I have written about this fine tequila in the past HERE. To recap, I found its flavor to be like this: It doesn’t have that crisp flavor of typical tequilas. It’s mellow, with an almond nose, smooth on the palate and with a slight warming and more smooth flavor upon swallowing. You’ll definitely notice the “bourbon-y” notes it’s picked up with aging in oak barrels.
With this bourbon being bottled in a matte black glass bottle, it’s distinctive on any liquor shelf. Your dad probably doesn’t have a fine tequila at home and you can certainly enjoy this one straight. Use wide-mouthed glasses, like brandy snifters, to get the full aromas. If you want to make decadent cocktails with it, all the more power to you!
The good part is, you still have time to run out and get some, no fancy wrapping paper needed.
