A Baltimore Co. farmer’s market with real people hours: Green Spring Station

Are you an unrepentant night owl, like I am? “They” say that we’re more creative and we tend to like the color purple. “They” also say it’s hard for us to lose weight, but that’s another subject altogether.

If you’re at all like I am, going to farmer’s markets in Baltimore usually required pulling something close to an all nighter, unless I wasn’t interested in getting the cream of the crop in my purchases. It’s a rough road to hoe! Rolling out of bed, sometimes it’s easy to look like an extra from “One Flew Out of the Cuckoo’s Nest”. I remember running into a client at a farmer’s market and the guy didn’t recognize me…I thought, “Hey, bud! You just paid me lots of your hard-earned cash this week!”

Baltimore County knows how to do things in a civilized manner.Green Spring Station Farmer’s Market has a later market! From now through May, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 in the Joppa Concourse, on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays, they’re hosting a farmer’s market. On May 26 through November 17, it’ll be from 2 pm to 5 pm! This is the farmer’s market for the poets, musicians, artists and dreamers in us.

There will be a little bit of shake up between the two sets of vendors — fresh veggies, baked goods, plants and more — so be sure to check it out before the new times. I just got some tasty, garlicky, salty, half sour pickles there this weekend.
