Final Fridays at Baltimore’s Station North: eat from Souper Freaks

On the last Friday of the month in Baltimore, there’s a relatively new party that’s free and you’re all invited! At the Station North neighborhood — just north of the Mt. Royal neighborhood — they’re playing music, providing performance artists, selling things, including tasty treats.

Souper Freak, the soup-based food truck, was parked right near the live music — Massaschusett’s Wax Museum band — this past Friday. They offer a number of menu items besides soup, including grilled cheese sandwiches and earthy/crunchy style vegan desserts. However, the soup is where things really shine! Though I was a little hesitant to order a seafood based soup out of a truck, the “word on the street” was that the clam chowder was awesome. I took the plunge and glad I did it! the chowder was chock full of fresh clams, with a rich base and touch of fresh rosemary.

Now that the temperatures have dropped in Baltimore, soup outside is the perfect thing to help you brave the night parties.
